Smoke Fired Vessels...

After an initial firing to 1800° f the forms are coated/covered with metallic & organic materials. They are then fired in one of several types of saggars; clay, aluminium or metal that allowing the materials to enhance the clay surface that is created with smoke and painting by the fire itself.

Each form is individually hand thrown on a potter’s wheel. The firing techniques have been chosen to create a unique surface that enhances the simple form on each piece.
